Amma’s June Visit
June 21st, 2010 by Georgia | Posted in General |
We’ve had such a busy past couple of weeks! Amma came to visit with us for an extended weekend and we had so much fun! I’m just now getting to the images, mostly because I’ve been swamped with clients the past few weeks. The wedding threw me off quite a bit. Saturday we had the distinct pleasure of having brunch with friends. We found out the hard way that Liv loves the drums in Rockband. I think Amma may have almost gotten clipped in the face with the drumsticks a couple of times. We’re glad we didn’t have to make any last-minute trips to the emergency room to have a drumstick dislodged from her ear.
We also have video taken on the camcorder that we’ve been meaning to update. Unfortunately, our choice in camcorders was a poor one. It takes forever to convert the files, because it saves in a different format than what you can show on the web.

More coming!
Out to the Park We Go!
June 8th, 2010 by Georgia | Posted in Baby, General, Photography |
Tonight I had a client needing a week to recover from one heck of a back injury, so with 70 degree weather, low humidity, blue skies, and puffy clouds, we decided to take advantage of this by going to Cracker Barrel for dinner followed by a small photo shoot at the park. I overuse this park, really I do, but I LOVE it for toddlers. Liv can ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuun all she wants and it’s ok, because there are no big distractions, nothing I have to Photoshop out later, and it’s beautiful. Right now the grass is about a foot and a half tall, so thankfully she didn’t run off into it. I wouldn’t trust it right now with all I’m hearing about snakes in the area anyway.
I’m still working on the wedding that I documented last Friday, so I could only take a small break to edit some of these tonight. There is a whole series I want to make and put on a little storyboard for the house!

Sorry for the watermark, but as always, I’m trying to protect not only my work, but also Liv.
Strawberries and Beds!
June 2nd, 2010 by Georgia | Posted in Baby, General |
This past weekend we took Olivia to the Delaplane Strawberry Festival. We went last year with friends and had a blast, so we planned on going again this year. It was boiling hot, so unfortunately we could only stay for about two hours, but that’s ok because once we got home, we had to put Olivia’s bed together. That’s right, a bed. She’s been escaping from her crib for a while now so we wanted to be safe and get her shuffled into a bed as soon as possible to avoid any broken limbs or head injuries. We bought the bed at “Baby 2 Teen” in Manassas a few months ago and it finally came in!
While Olivia loves it, she still has issues going down at night. She doesn’t like to be alone, so she screams at us for about 5 minutes when we leave the room. This hasn’t changed with the introduction of a bed, sadly. Now she can run to the gate and scream from there instead of throwing things out of her crib in hopes of hitting the door. But that’s alright. She eventually passes out. Now the best part is she won’t scream for us in the mornings — she actually woke up the next day and played by herself for an hour before calling for us! Nice

(Sorry, that’s about as “cleaned up” as he gets for “portraits” these days…)

Mother’s Day 2010
May 12th, 2010 by Georgia | Posted in General |
We’re a little late on getting this post up… woops. Just been busy I guess!
This year we had homemade French Toast (Olivia LOVED that) and ventured off to Baltimore to see the Aquarium. Now, I love fish as much as the next person, but the entrance fee per adult was $25. If Liv had been just a year older it would have cost $16 for her to get in. I figured there better be an exhibit of Jesus walking on water for that much money, but no… it was full of people staring at fish in small tanks lining the walls. Don’t get me wrong, the fish were cool……………… if you could get to them to see them. Maurice had to push and shove his way in to see them and I kind of just stood back and took pictures whenever I was able. I actually had one very rude woman shove me out of the way WHILE I had my camera to my face preparing for a shot just so she could see the Puffin birds. Lady, they’re birds. Seriously? Anyway, it was still fun to see Olivia’s reactions to the “fiss” and “tuttles”. She loved the dolphins, but what little girl doesn’t? We ate lunch at Noodles & Company. I’ll admit, seafood was on our minds but we felt dirty thinking about it more than a few minutes.
I’m still working on some of the pictures, but here’s a few:
