    Battlefield Park

    Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Olivia and I went out to the Manassas Battlefield Park this afternoon while Maurice was busy taking his exams. We realized that we haven’t posted any pictures of her walking. Certainly we have a cute first steps video, but no formal shots of her. Enjoy! And if you want a desktop version of any (you know who you are!) email me.

    Talking

    Thursday, November 12th, 2009

We’re so not keeping up with our promise to post more pictures and video, but when we do get something up here, at least they’re gems. Olivia is talking A LOT. Her teachers told us the other day that she nonstop talks and communicates with single words in the classroom now, which is awesome. I quickly grabbed the camera tonight and got a short clip of her repeating words. She does know a lot more than these, but she was hungry and it was definitely time for dinner as we got home late from a quick trip to Target.

    Current word list:

    • Dada
    • Mama
    • Cat
    • Dog
    • Baby
    • Book
    • Eat (she also puts her hand to her mouth when she says this)
    • Bye-bye
    • Night-night
    • More
    • Mine
    • Milk
    • Choo-choo (train — and yes, she says it whenever she hears the VRE horn blare)
    • Up
    • Tree
    • Light
    • Pretty
    • Car
    • “Bad Day” — don’t ask…

She may have more than this. We are still discovering them as she makes repetitve sounds and we identify what they are by reciting words back to her that sound similar.
